How to perform it

Preparation Drill, exercise 3 of 10

Moderate cadence (80 counts per minute)

Starting position

Forward Leaning Stance, palms facing in, fingers and thumbs extended and joined.

Forward Leaning Stance: Feet straight ahead under the shoulders, bent forward 45 degrees at the waist with the knees bent to 45 degrees and the back straight from head to hips. ATP 7-22.02, para. 2-6, p. 2-3 (opens the official PDF)

Counts

  1. 1Count 1. Swing the arms forward to parallel with the ground while jumping a few inches straight up.
  2. 2Count 2. Land softly on the balls of the feet and return to the starting position with the same foot width.
  3. 3Count 3. Swing the arms forcefully forward and overhead and jump forcefully straight up.
  4. 4Count 4. Land softly on the balls of the feet and return to the starting position.
